Social Business Day 2026
Social Business Day is an annual global gathering organized by the Yunus Centre to celebrate and share the accumulated experiences of social business leaders and entrepreneurs who are spearheading a new path toward a sustainable, inclusive, and just future for the world.
The 16th Social Business Day will be held at the Samajik Convention Centre on June 27–28, 2026, organized by the Yunus Centre in collaboration with the Grameen Group.
This year’s conference will focus on the theme “Social Business: The Language of Peace in a Fractured World.”
In a world increasingly shaped by division, inequality, and conflict, this theme reflects on how economic systems can become tools for harmony rather than competition. Social business offers an approach that prioritizes human well-being, cooperation, and shared prosperity—demonstrating that businesses can be designed to solve problems, reduce inequality, and build peaceful societies.
The 16th Social Business Day will be particularly meaningful as it coincides with two historic milestones: 50 years of the Grameen Bank and 20 years since the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Muhammad Yunus and Grameen Bank for their pioneering work in microfinance and their commitment to creating economic opportunities for the poor. These achievements have inspired a global movement toward social business and poverty-free societies.
The event will also mark the beginning of a year-long global celebration honoring these milestones. Throughout the year, a series of satellite events, dialogue exchanges, collaborations, and community gatherings will take place across the world, bringing together changemakers who believe in building a future based on human values.
As in previous years, the conference will feature keynotes, plenaries, breakout sessions, and regional forums, creating opportunities for participants to exchange ideas, share practical experiences, and explore innovative solutions to global challenges through the lens of social business.
We will also continue our tradition of hosting two important parallel events. The Academia Dialogue, organized in collaboration with North South University, will bring together teachers, students, and researchers to discuss the growing role of social business education in academia. Following that, the 3ZERO Club Convention will unite 3ZERO Club members, 3Z Support Persons, and 3Z Support Organizations from around the world to exchange ideas on building a world of three zeros—zero net carbon emissions, zero wealth concentration for ending poverty, and zero unemployment through unleashing entrepreneurship.
During the week of Social Business Day 2026, participants will also have the opportunity to visit social business project sites through organized field trips, allowing them to meet the people and communities where social business ideas are being implemented and creating real impact.
